She will talk you through everything you need to know so you can make an informed decision. This includes your treatment options, the advantages and disadvantages of different options that may be available, how long your teeth straightening might take and the costs involved. You will have the opportunity to ask any questions and eventually to make an informed decision and choose the system that best suits your requirements, clinical needs and facial profile. She will follow that up with an written report that will be emailed to you at a later stage.
As a general rule, all patients need to be dentally fit and enjoy teeth which are free from dental decay and infections prior to the commencement of any orthodontic treatment. There are generally two possible outcomes, which are:
• You are dentally fit and ready for your orthodontic treatment of your choice and need to decide whether to go ahead or not.
• Your dental health might need improving prior to the commencement of your orthodontic treatment, which may be due to the existing tooth decay, gum disease, etc. Your orthodontist will highlight your problems and will recommend you to visit a suitably qualified general or specialist dentist who can help you with the treatment of your problems before starting your orthodontic treatment.
We are confident that the assessment package described above will help you to make the right decision. Orthodontic treatment is often a life changing decision and improves one’s smile and confidence levels and functionality of the teeth and as such a great amount of care and consideration needs to be invested for choosing the best option for adults seeking the smile they always desired or parents who want to invest in getting their children’s teeth improved.
Treatment options
Developments in orthodontic technology have given adult patients more choice when it comes to teeth straightening options. No longer do you have to worry about being fitted with a mouth full of metal; these days orthodontic appliances are so discreet people won’t even know you’re having treatment.
Invisalign
one of the most popular orthodontic treatment methods for adults is Invisalign clear removable aligners. These virtually invisible aligners help move teeth into position faster than traditional metal braces.
Lingual braces
these braces use the same system as traditional metal braces but are fitted to the back surface of your teeth. This means no one can see them.
Ceramic low friction braces
these ceramic clear braces have the same colour of your teeth so they aren’t noticeable when fitted to the front of your teeth.
Traditional braces require elastic ties to hold wires in place, which can accumulate bacteria, stain or “yellow” during treatment and often require uncomfortable “tightening” that can actually hinder tooth movement and prolong treatment. In contrast, Low Friction Clear braces resist staining with the innovative “tieless” brackets and high-tech memory- shaped wires that eliminate the need for uncomfortable periodic “tightening.” With these braces, the wires move freely within the brackets for better oral hygiene and appearance, as well as fast, comfortable tooth movement.
Orthodontic treatment for adults
Research shows more and more adults are turning to orthodontic treatment for the significant improvements it makes in both their personal and professional lives.
Dr Francesca Pasqualicchio treats lots of adult patients with discreet orthodontic treatment methods so they can enjoy the benefits of treatment without needing to feel self-conscious about wearing braces.
Every treatment will be bespoke in order to enhance your facial profile and features
If you also have a bite problem, you don’t have to worry because we might be able to correct it in few months: through the use of the motion appliance you will be able to address your second or third class without extraction and improving your facial profile:
SECOND CLASS CARRIERE MOTION APPLIANCE or THIRD CLASS CARRIERE MOTION APPLIANCE
After correcting your bite, in approximately 8-12 months time we will also address the rest of the alignment problems using the appliance that will better suit you (metal or clear braces or Invisalign or lingual hidden braces).
